Child and Family Services

The Anishinabeh people and other First Nations belief that a child is a gift from the creator, and must be nurtured and brought up in an atmosphere of a family and community life that will help guide a child to a good path of life. The primary goal of the family services is to decrease the number of children under protection care. The Family Services philosophy is to work with the children and families in a community that will foster caring, loving and respecting each other. The Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation has a satellite office of the West Region Child and family Services on reserve and employs band members.
